System Force are proud to announce the launch of their Internet ecommerce site www.clickandkeyboard.com providing customers with a one stop shop for products and services backed up with their legendary support team.
In an interview with Mr Walton, we were told that the main reason behind the shop was to bring all the different technologies that are used in business together, enabling customers to buy the products at significantly discounted prices.
Jez has entered us in the Great Gloucester Raft Regatta on 3rd of July 2010. If you would like to come and see us, and watch Ross drop his laptop in the water because he is on call that weekend, the regatta is at Saul Junction on the Sharpness Canal between 11am and 5pm. For further information, please see the following link.
The Great Gloucester Raft Regatta is all about raising money for charity, the primary benefactor being the Great Western Air Ambulance. We are now looking for sponsorship and would like to invite you to sponsor our raft, The SS Carlsberg (in our case the SS probably stands for Slowly Sinking).
Quoting from the web site .... To assist with commentary at the event - and to give publicity to any sponsors of your team or raft .... we will do our utmost to win and get the commentators talking about us and our sponsors – we can’t guarantee anything, but if Jez gets hold of the microphone, anything could happen.
If you would like to contribute, please reply to this email and fill in the following details.

10:10 is an ambitious project to unite every sector of British society behind one simple idea: that by working together we can achieve a 10% cut in the UK’s carbon emissions in 2010.
Why bother jumping out of the way of a speeding car?
Cutting 10% in one year is a bold target, but for most of us it’s an achievable one, and is in line with what scientists say we need over the next 18 months. We now know for certain that unless we act quickly to reduce our use of dirty fossil fuels, humanity will face terrible problems in the years to come. Politicians have so far failed to do what needs to be done, so it’s time for ordinary people to step in and show that we’re ready to defend our children’s futures. It’s now or never for the climate.
By signing up to a 10% target we’re not just supporting 10:10 – we’re making it happen. In our homes, in our workplaces, our schools and our hospitals, our galleries and football clubs and universities, we’ll be backing each other up as we take the first steps on the road to becoming a zero-carbon society. It’s easy to feel powerless in the face of a huge problem like climate change, but by uniting everyone behind immediate, effective and achievable action, 10:10 enables all of us to make a meaningful difference.
10:10 is the perfect opportunity to discover what’s possible when we work together. Let’s get started.
HOW CAN WE CUT 10%?
Introduction
By signing up to 10:10 you commit to support the national drive to reduce Britain's emissions steeply in 2010. That means urging your staff, suppliers and customers to sign up to cut their own emissions by 10%, helping to distribute our tags, and doing everything you can to reduce your own operational emissions.
Joining 10:10 means aiming for a 10% reduction in carbon emissions in a single year. Not everyone will be able to hit this target and anything greater than a 3% cut will be considered a success. But 10:10 is all about giving it everything we’ve got. Until we do that, we won’t really know what’s possible anyway. Any large company that actually reaches the headline figure of 10% in a single year will have broken the record for private sector emissions cuts and will be hailed as a climate hero.
For most businesses 10% is ambitious but achievable. It’s the low hanging fruit: eliminating waste, increasing efficiency, that sort of thing.
What exactly do we have to do?
Carbon footprints can be measured in different ways, but for 10:10 purposes, we’re talking about four key areas:
electricity
on-site fuel use (gas, for most of us)
road transport
air travel
These are the four areas we will be asking you to report your progress on at the end of your 10:10 year. In addition, joining 10:10 means trying to find ways to reduce your other, harder to measure emissions not covered above, and doing what you can to encourage staff, customers and suppliers to get involved.
Why should we sign up?
Let’s face it – the writing is on the wall for carbon-hungry business practices.
Using less energy will increase profits. You’ll save money now as your bills shrink; you’ll save money in the future when laws force everyone else to catch up with you; and you’ll make money by keeping staff and winning customers from rivals who don’t seem to be doing their bit.
Reducing your footprint is also the right thing to do, of course. 10:10 is about coming together to build a better future for people and planet.
Why 10%? Why 2010?
With climate change, everyone talks about long-term targets: Britain’s committed to an 80% cut by 2050, and at least 34% by 2020. But scientists say it won’t be possible to meet these targets without the right action now – and that means cuts of around 10% in the very near future.
Having recently scooped first prize in the Innovation Category at the 2009 Property Care Association Awards - System Force I.T. (www.systemforce.co.uk) Would like to congratulate all at Guardian Preservation.
System Force are proud to be the IT services supplier to Guardian Preservation and wish them every success in the future
As our entire customer base is aware we recently moved from Kestrel Court to our new custom build offices and data centre, in Brearley Place.
Since moving a number of things have been happening, Firstly: We have improved our efficiency in Electricity usage; we have employed different energy saving systems to provide the optimum in controlled airflow and redundancy. Reusing the hot air from the data centre to heat the rest of our building, and thus not having to heat or cool the areas.
We have changed the way we do our backup checks, to the point where we are now chasing customers near lunch time to change the tapes instead of just before they go home. So far we are not aware of any support company doing the sort of preventative maintenance that System Force engineers provide to both remote support and on-site support.
Of course we still provide the 24X7 cover and monitoring our customers have come to expect, but we always think that things are better to improve than sit and not do anything. As a colleague once said to me "If you’re not moving forward then you’re moving backward"
Since we moved the amount of printers coming in for repair from other IT support companies and non System Force customers has reached a very high level which means we are now keeping more stock for Plotters, laser printers and inkjets.
We have also been more involved in installing network cabling, which has never been our core business, we have grown our reputation as clean and reliable.
Now it’s coming to that time of year, viruses are coming from everywhere and we are very lucky to have the team that we do, so far this month we have identified over 100 new virus threats (According to webimune by MacAfee).
System Force have now moved to a new site, The site is located at Baird road a two minute drive from Kestrel Court.
As you may of heard the rumors System Force is moving from Kestrel Court, so yes it is true. After three years at Kestrel Court we needed yet more space. The way we would get space here is by taking on another (Or two units).
However this just is not practical for several reasons :
1) The new rent at Kestrel Court would be about £5.5K per month
2) It would be very difficult to run our business from four separate units
The new building has some massive advantages - Some I have listed below :
1) 2500sqft of space on two levels
2)Ability to quadruple the size of our workshop - The reasons - Simple
a) We are fast becoming the most trusted Printer & Plotter Repair company in the West - Repairing all different types of printers and plotters.
b) We are extremely busy doing upgrades for customers all over the UK, and we need a base that can support the kit to be prepped.
c) We need to be able to carry more stock than before, as we are supporting so many various platforms, from Terminals, Tablets, PC's, Mac's and servers or all different types.
3)Bigger more open office to accommodate new staff, like any company we need to make sure we have the staff available and trained ready to help any customer.
4) Three Phase electric directly into the building, Although we try to reduce our carbon footprint by recycling heat to head our buildings, and trying to save as much energy as we can, the servers we host (Even if they are virtual) still consume power, so its very important that we are able to draw the power we need to.
5)Ability to have a massive sealed server room (Needed for projected expansion), we need the server sealed for two reasons, 1) it cuts the costs of cooling the servers 2) We need to reduce the noise that they make.
So Where are we moving too ?
Just across the road as it happens to Baird Road. - In fact our new address is (From 17th July 2009) :
Unit C1 Brearley Place, Baird Road, Waterwells Business Park, Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 2AF
Our phone numbers emails etc will all remain the same.
We are intending on being in at C1 by the beginning of September, however the boys here are working very hard to make sure that we move earlier than that as they are all excited about the space and the room that they will be able to work in.
Lots of our customers that still rent spaces at Kestrel court (Gloucester and Bristol) have asked us whether we will still support them - The simple answer is yes we have no issues with supporting any company that is in Kestrel Court
System Force has now taken over the unit next door to our main unit (25). Unit 24 has now been converted to Offices and a meeting room.
"With new upto date technology and an easily viewable plasma wall this new office makes spotting problems even easier than before."
Mr Walton (MD of System Force) said "This marks the next chapter in System Force's future" Mr Walton continued "We have now been able to double our workshop and server racks, allowing us to progress technology and better serve our customers. With the new workshop we are able to get more work done in the same time giving out customers a very quick turn around."
System Force I.T. has now launched its own Internet Access system, with high customer demands of Internet access we have decided to setup our own Internet system. The main reasons for this is to be able to provide full support to the customers and provide the high level of satisfaction, which most people are not seeing with other Internet Service providers.
With our bonded ADSL solution taking the UK by storm, we are now able to provide the highest level of performance on ADSL Max connections. Because we run the equipment ourselves we are able to manage the network and monitor our customers routers for problems and resolve them very quickly.
So now you can rest assured that System Force Can maintain and support your computers and internal network and now maintain and support your email, web and internet systems. This is now the best turnkey solution for any company wishing to outsource or provide backup support you internal staff.
